Vishay has introduced a 100A inductor in a 8787 (22×22.5mm) surface mount case 13mm(max) high.

Operating from -55 to 155°C IHLP-8787MZ-51 comes in values from 0.47 to 100µH with ratings from 100 to 7A and resistance spanning 0.67 to 39.4mΩ.

These are saturation currents, which the firm defines as dropping inductance by 20%. Typical maximum operating current – at which temperature rises by 40°C, is 80 to 9.1A.

“The inductor handles high transient current spikes without hard saturation,” said Vishay. “They are Pb-free, shielded, and composite construction reduces buzz noise, with high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock, and vibration.”

Applications are expected in power supplies and point-of-load (POL) converters; distributed power systems; solar inverters; and industrial lighting.

Samples and production quantities are available now, with lead times of 10 weeks for large orders.
